Abstract

Creating safe and supportive learning environments is a guide to working with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth and families. The book has 25 contributors, mainly PhD level psychologists doing research and clinical work in this field. There are two editors: Emily S Fisher, PhD, is an associate professor in the School Psychology programme at Loyola Marymount University. Karen Komosa-Hawkins, PhD, is an assistant professor at Loyola Marymount University's counselling programme. Both Fisher and Komosa-Hawkins do research and teaching on best practices for working with LGBTG youth and families and provide consultation and training for schools, districts and professional organisations in these areas.
