Explanation videos are an increasingly important learning opportunity for students. On the one hand, during the pandemic, up to 60% of 12 -19-year-olds frequently used explanation videos. On the other hand, politicians are making demands on digitalisation in schools and universities. Accordingly, digital media should be selected for their quality and integrated into teaching and learning processes in a way that is effective for learning. The literature on the topic of explanation videos still leaves open what influence the quality of an explanation video and the format of embedding in teachinglearning processes has on learning gains when using explanation videos. Furthermore, it is unclear which groups of people can particularly benefit from explanation videos.

This study analyzes the effectiveness of H5P services used to create interactive student evaluations on a Moodle platform. The content evaluated in this study comes from the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana (Guayaquil, Ecuador) Programing Course syllabus. Study participants are first year university students (18-20 years old). The students participate in a learning validation experience through Python Experiential Educational Platform (PEEP), designed for this purpose. A 75% improvement in retention of acquired knowledge is achieved by using active learning strategies during assessment. With H5P technology professors can reuse audio and video material previously recorded, together with the material they generate in each new class, allowing them to reuse resources not only for informative or didactic explanation, but also as an interactive evaluation resource made possible by interactive technologies designed for this purpose.

Before Covid-19, the class model was divided into online, offline, and blended learning. Due to Covid-19, we have the only online class environment. We need a new online class model under the new circumstances. In the new model, all technology and educational methods need to be well-adapted, organized and harmonized to compensate for the absence of offline learning sessions. In this paper, we propose a new online class model. Because of the absence of offline sessions, the model emphasizes the integration of synchronous and asynchronous activities seamlessly and effectively. The model also emphasizes the instructor's role as a content prosumer because the instructor in the new model is either reusing other's and the one's own contents or supplying those contents for others. This model uses open-source solutions or free services like Moodle, OBS, Tubestory, and Snap Camera for both budget-saving and stability purposes. It actively uses Moodle's monitoring capability and adopts various learning technologies. It consists of three activity sessions: a pre-Zoom session, a Zoom session, and a post-Zoom session. Each session is composed of modules that describe the process and action for the class. The process, methods, and techniques for each module are explained in this paper. The official students survey for class evaluation held by Kongju national university showed that the new class model's application obtained a higher score than the same class of the previous year that is performed by conventional teaching.
