Creating Declarative Process Models Using Test Driven Modeling Suite

Abstract: Abstract. Declarative approaches to process modeling promise a high degree of flexibility. However, current declarative state-of-the-art modeling notations are, while sound on a technical level, hard to understand. To cater for this problem, in particular to improve the understandability of declarative process models as well as the communication between domain experts and model builders, Test Driven Modeling (TDM) has been proposed. In this tool paper we introduce Test Driven Modeling Suite (TDMS) which provid… Show more

“…The experiment was conducted in December 2010 in a course on business process management at the University of Innsbruck; in total 12 students participated. Operational support for collecting demographic data was provided by Cheetah Experimental Platform (CEP) [21], modeling assignments were conducted using Test Driven Modeling Suite (TDMS) [30].…”

“…Even though these works provide valuable insights into hierarchical models, none of these works deals with declarative process models. The understandability of declarative process models in general has been investigated in [66][67][68]; however, in contrast to this work, hierarchy is not discussed. With respect to understandability of process models in general, work dealing with the understandability of imperative business process models is related.…”

“…However, the combination of constraints and in particular pairs of constraints, in turn, pose considerable chal-lenges. In this sense, for instance, approaches providing computer-based support for the interpretation of constraints seem promising [17].…”
