Crash Simulation of New Car Rear Under-Run Protector

Abstract

According to a brand of heavy truck’s under protection device, using CATIA surface modeling functions , this article assessed the performance of the rear under-run protection device. Study the performance of the rear under-run protection device by doing width offset collision simulation. A new energy absorption type under-run protection device is designed which can improve the energy absorption property. By vehicle rear-end collision simulations the optimized feasibility of protective devices is verified.
