ABSTRACT:In this paper, a printed, compact & ultrawideband (UWB) antenna used for three band notch characteristics are reported. Ultra-wideband (UWB) is one of the recent topics that received a great concern from academic and industry. However, UWB found many difficulties to be standardized due to the overlay working that made UWB an important potential interference source to many licensed and unlicensed spectrum throughout the band 3.1-to-10.6 GHz. In this paper we propose a compact ultra-wideband microstrip antenna with triple band notched 3.5 GHz, 4.9 GHz and 9.3 GHz. The proposed antenna consists of a curved patch with a partial ground plane that is fed by 50 Ω microstrip line. In this antenna notch filter achieved using small rectangular metallic strip with different size and positions. The notch frequency can be obtained by varying the length of rectangular metallic strip. Moreover, the proposed antenna provides good radiation patterns across the working bands and a relatively flat gain over the entire frequency band excluding the rejected bands.

A novel ultra-wideband (UWB) monopole antenna with triple band-notched functions is presented. A pair of folded multiplemode resonators (MMR) symmetrically coupled to the feed line are utilized to generate triple notched bands for WiMAX, WLAN and downlinks of X-band satellite communication, respectively. The centre frequencies and band gaps between them can be tuned by varying the length and width of the MMR. Simulated and measured results of the proposed antenna have been displayed and good agreement between them has been achieved. In this paper, a miniaturized bow-tie monopole UWB antenna with band rejection characteristic is proposed. To miniaturize the proposed antenna, a perfect magnetic wall(PMW) condition is applied to primitive bow-tie monopole antenna. An uneven ground patch, a tapered feeding structure and a edge-chopped main patch are adapted for impedance matching. A quater-lambda slot resonator is inserted at main patch to prevent interference in UWB band from another band. The proposed antenna is fabricated on Taconic RF60-A substrate with relative permittivity of 6.15. The size of the proposed antenna is 30.0×39.7 mm 2 , which is only 45 % of the conventional bow-tie monopole antenna.The proposed antenna covers full UWB band with return losses less than -10 dB and has band stop characteristic in 5 GHz WLAN band. The maximum gains are within -1.0 ～5.0 dBi, the group delay variations are within 1.0 ns and the radiation patterns show directivity characteristics in x-y plane.
