“…As the COVID-19 pandemic began to unfold, a number of researchers began to study the impact on a range of crimes, including street level drug activities ( Abrams, 2020 ; Balmori de la Miyar, Hoehn-Velasco, & Silverio-Murillo, 2021 ); residential and commercial burglaries ( Felson et al, 2020 ); “porch piracy,” which is the theft of delivered packages to homes ( Stickle, 2020 ); shootings ( Kim & Phillips, 2021 ); homicides and aggravated assaults ( Campedelli, Aziani, & Favarin, 2020 ; Hodgkinson & Andresen, 2020b ; Lersch & Hart, 2022 ) and other offenses.
