Covid-19 Sürecinde Ergenlik Dönemindeki Bireylerin Algıladıkları Sosyal Destek Düzeyi ve Mutluluk Düzeylerinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of the social support perceived by adolescents on happiness levels during the Covid-19 process. In this research, which is descriptive in the screening model, "Adolescent Happiness Scale Short Form (SSF)” and "Perceived Social Support Scale-R(PSSS-R)” were used as data collection tools. In this context, 1184 students studying in different types of high schools in the central districts of Gaziantep province were reached. "T-test", "one-way Analysis of Variance" and "multiple regression" analyses were used for the relationship between the variables. According to the results of the research; In the Covid-19 process, it was found that there were significant differences between the groups according to the variables of social support and happiness levels perceived by adolescents; gender, school type, grade level, parents' relationship status, social security status, general attitude of the parents, the place where they spent their lives, the mother's education status and the father's education status. In addition, no significant differentiation was found in any dimension of Perceived Social Support (PSS) according to gender, PSS from teachers and friends according to school type, PSS from friends according to parental relationship status, PSS from parents and teachers according to place of residence, PSS from teachers and parents according to father's education level, and no significant differentiation was found in any dimension of Perceived Social Support according to mother's education level. It was found that 17% of adolescents' happiness level was explained by perceived social support. The results of the research were evaluated by explaining in the discussion and conclusion section. The findings were discussed in the light of the relevant literature data and suggestions were made.
