Abstract:Two previously unknown cerium(IV) phosphates, cerium(IV) hydroxidophosphate, Ce(OH)PO4, and cerium(IV) oxidophosphate, Ce2O(PO4)2, have been discovered. These sister compounds with similar structures belong to a very limited family of ceric salts and complement the classes of isostructural M(OH)PO4 and R2O(PO4)2 (M=Th, U and R=Th, U, Np, Zr).
