Abstract:A light‐driven ATP regeneration module has been created through bottom‐up assembly of small building blocks such as proteins, lipids and polymers. The use of polymer hybrid compartments instead of conventional liposomes significantly increased the long‐term stability of the module. This could play an important role especially when using the module as an energy supply to drive cell‐like functions within artificially created reaction compartments like protocells. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
