Counterterrorism, Psychological Aspects of

Abstract: In order to define counterterrorism, it is first well to understand terrorism, which counterterrorism aims to oppose. Though the definition of terrorism has varied widely, most scholars agree that terrorism includes aggression against noncombatants and is directed toward influencing an audience rather than fulfillment of a specific political goal (Schmid, 1983).
