Could real-time ultrasonography guidance be useful for the effective deployment of FemoSeal in common femoral arteriotomy?

Abstract

The vascular closure device is used for hemostasis after the procedure with arterial puncture. The device is becoming more critical as the endovascular arterial intervention is being widely used. FemoSeal(r) is one of the popular closure devices that was verified for safety and effectiveness. However, there is still complication in some cases and disastrous complications arise sometimes. Even with little experience, we could reduce the complication rate by using realtime ultrasonography (US) monitoring during the deployment of this device. We are suggesting that complications related to FemoSeal(r) could be more reduced by our method. So, we are introducing our experience.
