Abstract: The study of Ellsworth et al. (Br J Haematol, 2024) demonstrated the usefulness of oxygen gradient ektacytometry technique to better identify the physiological parameters that could increase the risk of sickling of red blood cells (RBCs) from sickle cell trait (SCT) carriers.
