“…From the multivariable analysis, we found that the length of hospital stay was longer in patients aged 25 years and older as well as in patients with clinical presentation as other IMD including patients with unspecified and possibly milder meningococcal infections that may have led to shorter hospitalizations. In contrast, another study from the United States reported a mean length of hospital stay of 17.8 days; however, the proportion of complicated IMD cases and the mean age was higher with 41% and 33.2 years, respectively [8].
