“…In their chapter on K-Pop or Hallyu glocalization, Ingyu Oh and Wonho Jang offer a highly relevant analysis of K-Pop, which is one of the most widespread cultural phenomena of our time. In their chapter, the authors approach glocalization in a twofold manner -there is the process of localizing the Korean Wave, and then of globalizing it.…”

“…Events such as World War II, 9/11 and Brexit are some of the major events shaping nostalgia (Jobson, 2018). Moreover, in the IJOA 30,4 post-modern world, the emergence of large city spaces, urbanization and industrialization have largely resulted in the shifting character of a future society in terms of space, emigration and a budding cosmopolitan population (Roudometof, 2019). As a consequence, individuals have embodied culture, language, ideas and social and psychological well-being.…”

“…Furthermore, nostalgia appeared to have a pervasive influence over people, regardless of their gender (Stern, 1992), age (Reisenwitz et al , 2004), ethnicity (Zhao et al , 2014), culture (Jobson, 2018), nationality (Roudometof et al , 2019) or any other demographic variable (Greenberg et al , 2004), resulting in significant results across industries (Friedman, 2016). This marked the emergence of nostalgia as a dominant theme in marketing literature.…”

We also know that glocalism does happen in theory (Bauman ISSN 2283-7949 GLOCALISM: JOURNAL OF CULTURE, POLITICS AND INNOVATION 2023, 1, DOI: 10.54103/gjcpi.2023.1.22342 1998bGobo 2011;Inglis, Robertson 2011;Robertson 1994Robertson , 1995Robertson , 2003aRobertson , 2003bRobertson , 2013Roudometof 2013Roudometof , 2015aRoudometof , 2015bRoudometof , 2015cRoudometof , 2016aRoudometof , 2016bRoudometof , 2018Roudometof , 2019aRoudometof , 2019bRoudometof, Dessi 2022;Schuerkens 2004;Sedda 2014). And yet, the process of glocalisation does not always actually happen as experience, although, in theory, it happens continuously (Dessì, Sedda 2020: 2).…”
