Cosmological Dynamics of Scalar Field with Non-Minimal Kinetic Term

Abstract: We investigate dynamics of scalar field with non-minimal kinetic term. Nontrivial behavior of the field in the vicinity of singular points of kinetic term is observed. In particular, the singular points could serve as attractor for classical solutions.

“…Some of the existing solutions confirm that scalar fields may change their nature from a canonical one to a ghost one in a smooth way without leading to space-time singularities [24,25,29,30]. This circumstance widens the possible choice of scalar field dynamics and, in addition, the possible formulations of scalar-tensor theories of gravity, even though we have so far considered minimally coupled fields only.…”

“…If the matrix h ab is not positive-or negative-definite, some solutions due to (8) can be wormhole while others correspond to a canonical scalar and have a Fisher central singularity [13], but there are no solutions of trapped-ghost character.…”
