Coseismic deformation of the Mid Niigata prefecture Earthquake in 2004 detected by RADARSAT/InSAR

Abstract: Crustal deformation associated with the Mid Niigata prefecture Earthquake in 2004 (M J M A = 6.8) was detected using RADARSAT SAR interferometry. A displacement of −40 cm in the line-of-sight to the satellite was observed to the west of the main shock epicenter, and a displacement of 20 cm was observed to the east of the epicenter.
