“…Performing resistance testing of isolates can provide guidance for the use of antibiotics. At present, there have been limited studies on antibiotic susceptibility of C. pseudotuberculosis in alpaca, with most research focusing on horse ( Foley et al, 2004 ; Rhodes et al, 2015 ), sheep ( Gallardo et al, 2019 ), and goat ( Connor et al, 2000 ; Abebe and Sisay, 2015 ) isolates. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the antimicrobial agent showed no significant differences between the isolates from horses and cows compared to those from sheep and goats, except in the case of amikacin ( Costa et al, 1998 ).…”

“…According to the MIC values and EUCAST clinical breakpoints for Corynebacterium spp., antibiotic resistance of the C. pseudotuberculosis strains from our study was observed only in terms of benzylpenicillin (72.7%), and 30.3% of the strains were classified as intermediate to meropenem according to CLSI. Strains of C. pseudotuberculosis that are less sensitive or resistant to some β-lactam antibiotics have also been reported in samples originating from small ruminants in Spain [48], Kosovo [49] and Egypt [50]. Antibiotics for the treatment of CLA are used in the Czech Republic principally on small or hobby sheep and goat farms or in the case of valuable breeding animals.…”
