Cortical development and neuroplasticity in Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder

Abstract: Cortical development is dependent to a large extent on stimulus-driven input. Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder (ANSD) is a recently described form of hearing impairment where neural dys-synchrony is the predominant characteristic.
