“…The corrosion pathway of these lanthanides has also been widely discussed and it is associated with the cathodic areas blocked by precipitation of a film of lanthanide oxide/hydroxide [ 7 , 8 , 9 , 10 ], but it strongly depends on the metallic substrate.
