Corrosion mitigation in desalination plants by ammonium-based ionic liquid

Abstract: CuNi (90:10) alloy is widely used in desalination plants. CuNi alloy corrosion in sulfide-containing seawater is the fundamental problem in the desalination industry. Here we have confronted this difficulty by using ammonium-based ionic liquid (Diethyl (2-methoxyethyl)-methyl ammonium Bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide) [DEMEMA][FSI]. The results revealed that the [DEMEMA][FSI] can suppress Cu–Ni alloy corrosion in a solution of (3.5% NaCl + 10 ppm sulphide) with an efficiency of 98.4% at 120 ppm. This has been estimate… Show more

“…An increase (decrease) in synaptic weight occurs when the pre-neuron spikes before (after) the post-neuron. 34 Moreover, the synaptic weight change with respect to the spike timing difference (∆t) can be accurately described by exponential decay functions, con rming that the STDP properties are similar to those observed in biological synaptic systems. It is apparent that upon approaching ∆t = 0 from ∆t = 0.1 s, the synaptic weight is potentiated.…”

“…8 In contrast to SNNs, training ring-rate networks often involves the use of backpropagation algorithms, which can be challenging to implement e ciently due to the centralized method for computing weight updates and the need for large amounts of high-precision memory. 34 In SNNs, the LIF neuron model is commonly used to simulate the behavior of neurons. The LIF model can simulate how neurons receive and process signals from other neurons and re a spike when a certain threshold is reached.…”

“…The high specific surface area of QFPC can increase hydrogen evolution capacity. [ 49 ] Although the SQFPC has a high specific surface area, its hydrogen evolution capacity is far weaker than the QFPC and similar to the AB electrode. The surface of SQFPC has acidic functional groups that can serve as active sites for the deposition of lead, and lead deposition with increased hydrogen evolution overpotential restricts HER.…”

“…The anodic and cathodic sites can be covered by Ph-IL molecules through the adsorption of the ionic liquid (both the cationic and anionic components). Deyab and Mohsen synthesized ammonium-based ionic liquid and examined it is corrosion resistance for CuNi alloy in desalination plants . The electrochemical measurements declare that the ionic liquid inhibit the metal corrosion with an efficiency of 98.4%.…”
