Corrosion mechanisms in titanium oxide-based films produced by anodic treatment

Abstract: A B S T R A C TThanks to its excellent corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties and biocompatibility, titanium has been widely used as dental implant material. A passive oxide film formed on titanium surface is responsible for its high corrosion resistance. This study has evaluated the surface characteristics of oxide layers formed on commercially pure titanium samples by anodic treatment and the effect of anodic treatment on their corrosion behaviour. FEG-SEM and XRD were used to evaluate the micromor… Show more

“…Figure 7 c depicts that Ti has a one-time constant at low and medium frequencies, in contrast to the Cu side and the weld interface which show two-time constants. The phase value for the Ti side approaches 77°, which is due to the formation of a dense oxide film of TiO 2 with a high dielectric constant in this corrosive media [ 10 , 39 , 45 ]. The two-time constants for Cu and weld interface are related to the formation of oxide or corrosion layer at higher frequencies and the corroding interface at lower frequencies.…”

“…In the spectrum of GO + Nd coating, peaks appear at 2900 cm À1 and 2800 cm À1 attributed to the C-C, C]C graphite carbon chain, while the peak at 2300 cm À1 is associated with the COOH adsorbed on the alloy surface. 84,85 The peaks at 1388 cm À1 and 1720 cm À1 are attributed to C-O and C]O, respectively. The peak at 920 cm À1 is associated with the Ti-O-Ti bond vibration, indicating the possible formation of a Ti oxide surface layer.…”

“…9 разцов губчатого титана до и после анодирования. Ход зависимостей для анодированных образцов позволяет говорить, что присутствие на поверхности ППМ из губчатого титана анодно-оксидной пленки обеспечивает необходимую коррозионную стойкость образцов [21,26].…”
