Correlations between the cohesive energy and a crystallographic ratio in group‐II chalcogenides

Abstract: Correlations between the cohesive energy per mole and a crystallographic ratio in group11 chalcogenides are presented. It is shown that the linear combination of the anion radius and the nearestneighbour distance is a constant in these materials. Results obtained agree with works reported earlier. This work highlights the significance of the anion radius in determining the cohesive energy in group11 chalcogenides.
