Correlation of Ultrasonographic Estimated Placental Thickness with Gestational Age and Fetal Weight in Late Second and Third Trimester

Abstract

Background: The aim of this study was to findout relationship of placental thickness, measured at the level of the umbilical cord insertion, with ultrasonographic estimated gestational age and fetal weight in late second and third trimester of pregnancy. Methods: A total of 450 pregnant females (24th to 39th weeks of pregnancy) ultrasound were observed over a period of one year.
