“…Since these associations disappeared after capsulotomy, we can assume that they are attributable to PCO effect. Considering that BCVA has been closely associated with PCO degree assessed by different techniques [4,15,17,24] our results suggest that the above mentioned SLP measurements (specially nasal average and NFI) could be used to objectively quantify PCO degree. Software of GDx VCC was developed to analyze glaucomatous changes.…”

“…30,31 The opacification can be on the posterior or anterior capsule and can increase with time. The residual LECs can disturb the light distribution on the retina, which might increase straylight 32,33 and decrease visual acuity 32,33 and contrast sensitivity. [32][33][34] In an earlier study, van Gaalen et al measured contrast sensitivity in patients with bilateral age-related cataract 6 weeks after the second eye surgery 35 and documented the contrast sensitivity in the same group of patients 1 year after cataract extraction.…”

“…Recently, some investigators developed software programmes to measure the severity of PCO using analysis of retro illumination images; but we assessed PCO at the slit lamp from reflected and backward scattered light. 17,18 In this study, at all spatial frequencies, under both day and night conditions, contrast sensitivity values of the eyes that underwent PCCC were slightly greater than those of the fellow eyes. However, all of the differences between the values of the two groups were statistically insignificant (P40.05).…”
