Correlation between Physico-Mechanical and Rheological Properties of Rubber Compounds Based on NR-BR with C-C Gel Content in Polybutadiene

Abstract: In this study, microstructure and gel content (C-C) of polybutadiene rubber (PBR) were investigated using various techniques including ASTM D 3616, attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (ATR FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR). The ATR FTIR spectra of the samples were investigated to determine the cis, trans, 1, 2-vinyl and the C-C gel content in PBR. The absorbance ratios of specific peaks in different grades of PBR we… Show more

“…39 A C=C group appears at 1619 cm −1 , 34 and the C−C group corresponds to 1263 cm −1 . 40 The bands at approximately 3050, 2922, and 963 cm −1 are assigned to the C−H group. 41 There is an O−H group at 3147 and 1385 cm −1 .…”

“…It is obvious that all e-skin samples show an absorption peak at about 1073 cm −1 , which is assigned to the C–O–C stretching vibrations of graphene [ 69 ]. The patterns show a small peak at 1264 cm −1 assigned to the C–C bonds [ 70 ]. The C-H stretching vibration peak of the methyl group associated with PDMS and graphene-based materials is observed at 2929 cm −1 [ 71 ].…”

“…Hydrocarbons adsorbed spontaneously during the heating of the samples, which was investigated by FT-IR spectroscopy (Figure 3c). Absorptions at 1100−1300 cm −1 were attributed to C−C bond, 28 and CC absorptions that appeared at about 1630 cm −1 . 29 Absorptions around 950, 2910, and 3050 cm −1 were ascribed to stretching and bending vibrations of the C−H bond.…”
