Correlation between hysteresis dynamics and inductance in hybrid perovskite solar cells: studying the dependency on ETL/perovskite interfaces

Abstract: In this study, to elucidate origin of inductance and its relation to the phenomenon of hysteresis in hybrid perovskite solar cells (PSCs), two electron transport layer (ETL) structures are utilized:...

“…We attribute this observation to the fact that LD shows the least intense LiF peak, as well as the absence of the Li 2 O peak, in the corresponding XPS spectra (Figure 5b,f). Therefore, in line with our previous work, 36 we suggest that larger combined magnitude of R HF , R MF , and R LF indicates higher charge transfer resistance. Since the perovskite layer and ETL are not subject to variation in this work, the changes in R MF and R LF can be mainly attributed to the injection barrier at the perovskite/HTL interface.…”

“…There has been some controversy over the use of HI to gauge the performance of PSCs, as this metric is calculated based on parameters that are interdependent and therefore is not a reflection of what truly affects PSC hysteresis behavior. In particular, in our previous work, we demonstrated how despite similar HI, the phenomenon of hysteresis can take place at a different locus in J–V curves, which is indicative of the band alignment for a given scan direction under which the rate of nonradiative recombination is enhanced. Consequently, we find the analysis of the hysteresis locus and changes in PV metrics between RS and FS, instead of HI, to be a better approach in understanding the charge carrier phenomenon in PSCs.…”

“…The assessment of hysteresis with IS has been discussed in recent studies. [19,42,43] Gonzales et al, formulated a general model to correlate IS data and device hysteresis at different voltages of the J-V curve in PSCs. [42] The model was used to evaluate hysteresis via the impedance parameters and track transitions between capacitive and inductive domains at low and high voltages, respectively.…”
