Correlation between Chemical Shift, Plasmon Energy, and Partial Charge

Abstract: X-ray chemical shifts in copper and manganese compounds are correlated with the product of partial charge and plasmon energy. A linear relation between the chemical shifts and the product is observed, with the chemical shift increasing when the product increases. The constant of proportionality for copper and manganese is of different numerical value. The relationship is used to predict the chemical shifts for other copper and manganese compounds.
