Show more

“…By reviewing the three-tone averages and the LRSS of the individuals in this study, we noticed in the CG the tonal threshold average for frequencies of 0.5, 1 and 2 kHz was of 10.83 dB NA and the LRSS, 7.34 dB NA, with better values for the LRSS. The same was found in studies carried out previously, in which the authors stated this is expected, since the sentences provide acoustic and linguistic clues with meaning (26,27).…”

“…This correlation between the audibility thresholds and LRSS was also confirmed by another study (27), in which the average LRSS obtained in 200 ears examined was 6.15 dB NA and the average of tonal thresholds for the frequencies of 0.5, 1 and 2 kHz, 8.55 dB NA, and the statistical analysis confirmed a significant correlation between them.…”

“…Prior studies [22][23] observed that the phrases were recorded in a CD at an average intensity which was 7 dB below the noise intensity. Keeping such difference and knowing that, in the free field, the noise intensity was 20 dB above the value shown in the equipment's dial, the phrases presentation intensity was 13 dB above the one shown in the dial.…”

“…Na literatura, são encontrados estudos que descrevem limiares logoaudiométricos pesquisados no silêncio, com diferentes tipos de estímulos (sílabas, palavras, sentenças com ou sem sentido, etc. ), através de fones ou em campo livre, em indivíduos com audição normal e/ou perda auditiva e sua correlação com os limiares tonais encontrados na avaliação audiológica de rotina 1,3,[5][6][7][8]11,14,15,18,19 .…”
