“…a motor branch leading to the medial head of the gastrocnemius muscle; b medial sural cutaneous nerve; c motor branch leading to the lateral head of the gastrocnemius muscle; d motor branch leading to the soleus; T tibial nerve calf circumference [1] and shape, the range of flexion and extension of the ankle and knee, as well as the walking gait. Cosmetic results were evaluated 12 months after surgery by the patient, the surgeon (who had 20 years of experience in cosmetic surgery) and a third party who was not involved with the patient or cosmetic surgery in general [15]. Fugl-Meyer motor function assessment [16] was carried out before and 3 months after surgery (Table 1).…”

“…But if flap dissection reveals a lack of perforators, an anteromedial thigh adipofascial flap can be used as an alternative to the anterolateral thigh adipofascial flap. 13 One disadvantage of the perineal approach, in particular after a period of prolonged local inflammation, is that access to the fistula is through scarred tissue. Perineal wound infection is a frequently observed complication after perineal incision.…”

“…One disadvantage of the pedicled vastus lateralis musculofascial flap is that a minority of patients have anatomical blood vessel variation, and a small minority lack blood vessel perforators. 13 Therefore, to improve both surgical planning and flap harvesting, a preoperative Doppler flowmeter was used as a noninvasive tool which enables to detect perforators precisely. But if flap dissection reveals a lack of perforators, an anteromedial thigh adipofascial flap can be used as an alternative to the anterolateral thigh adipofascial flap.…”
