Correction Methods for Electroabsorption Modulator-Based Phase-Shift Keying Photonic Integrated Circuits

Abstract: We present correction factors necessary for optimal phase-shift keying generation using electroabsorption modulators (EAMs) with a relatively low extinction ratio. The model presented shows that shorter EAMs are more suitable for use in binary phaseshift keying and quadrature phase-shift keying configurations.
