Correction: Contemporary status of insecticide resistance in the major Aedes vectors of arboviruses infecting humans

Abstract: The citations for item 5 listed under pyrethroids and items 2, 3, and 4 listed under temephos refer to the wrong references and these citations have been corrected in the updated Table 2 below. The citations for items 1, 3 and 4 listed under pyrethroids and item 1 listed under temephos are also incorrect and should cite references that have been omitted from the reference list. These citations have been corrected in the updated Table 2 below and the following corresponding references 79-82 should be added to t… Show more

“…The AHI and sleepiness metric benefits of BPAP are like CPAP. A potential benefit of BPAP over CPAP is the improved comfort due to a lower pressure during exhalation, which may improve patient adherence [ 88 ]. BPAP can be considered for patients intolerant of CPAP pressure or who require additional ventilatory support such as in the setting of obesity, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or neuromuscular disease.…”

“…Historically, efforts to reduce viral transmission have focused on the use of chemical insecticides and the development of vaccines. However, with the rise of insecticide resistance 3 and the limited efficacy of vaccines 4 , there is a critical need for improved control strategies. Recently, molecular tools, such as broadly neutralizing antibodies 5 and encoded miRNA arrays 6,7 have been demonstrated to mitigate DENV and ZIKV transmission by mosquitoes.…”

“…Two common pyrethroid resistance mechanisms in Ae . aegypti are target-site and metabolic resistance [ 6 , 14 ]. Target-site resistance is caused by single or multiple mutations in the sequence of a target protein, inducing insensitivity at the target site of an insecticide [ 15 , 16 ].…”
