“…Interestingly, the same findings can be obtained non-invasively on CCTA [11]. However, the incremental value and influence on the need for functional evaluation or FFR assessment in case of intermediate-grade CAS have received only little attention in the literature.…”

“…Surprisingly, there are no additional values necessary for the use of 3D‐QCA analysis to predict either FFR <0.80 or <0.75. This may be explained by the fact that not only lesion stenosis severity but also specific angiographic features including tandem lesion, true bifurcation, lesion length, and distance from the ostium were determined as independent predictors of positive FFR . These findings also suggested that 3D‐QCA can be used to solve the problems caused by foreshortening; however, a major limitation of the 3D system itself, caused by luminology, is the unsolved problem of vessel diameter measurement.…”

“…There is incontrovertible proof that by using FFR, both the symptoms and outcome of patients with coronary artery disease are significantly improved and that its use is cost-saving. [4][5][6][7][8][9] The practical value of FFR to guide coronary revascularization, the background of the concept, its practical set-up, and its importance for clinical outcome have been described in a myriad of papers, among others a review article in this Journal in 2013. 10 However, measurement of coronary pressure by sensor tipped pressure wire has been associated with drift since the early days.…”
