“…Therefore, new functionalities can be imparted to the cores depending on the properties of the shell. Although, in some multiferroic BaTiO 3 based core/shell structures such as CoFe 2 O 4 /BaTiO 3 , BaTiO 3 can act as a shell, it has been found that in some other core/shell composites, BaTiO 3 may act as a nucleous for the shell formation as well [32,33]. In the case of the BTF1 sample, the last conclusion could be also made even just for the ferrimagnetic phases and therefore it could be assumed that the particles of BaTiO 3 act as nucleus centers for synthesis of ferrimagnetic phases and promote their formation.…”

“…Due in part to their inherent scalability, hydrothermal synthesis methods were utilized in this work to deposit BaTiO 3 films on carbon fiber woven fabrics (Hexcel, IM7). Using a procedure established in prior research and described in further detail in the Experimental Methods section, woven carbon fiber fabrics were coated with a conformal layer of BaTiO 3 . ,, The synthesis procedure is a two-step hydrothermal reaction that is schematically illustrated in Figure a. This two-step reaction initially creates a textured film of rutile TiO 2 on the carbon fiber surface during the first hydrothermal reaction step.…”

“…charged interfaces, grain boundaries, interphases between different components [10]. Through an overview of recent results, we will underline the progresses made in the synthesis of nanoscale-designed ferroelectric particles, ceramics and composites [6,11]. In particular, promising wet chemical routes (seed growth process, thermolysis, supercritical fluid synthesis) to control stoichiometry, crystallinity, surface reactivity and functionalization will be emphasized.…”

“…Buscaglia [11]. As an example, the combination of size effects and local composition gradients has led to nanoceramics exhibiting reasonable tunability, moderate dielectric losses and flat temperatureindependent permittivity [19].…”
