Copper vapor laser with intra-cavity acousto-optic output control

Abstract: A copper vapor laser is developed with an intracavity acousto-optic modulator. The output parameters can be controlled by computer variation of amplitude, repetition rate and period-to-pulse duration ratio of high frequency pulses at the modulator input, which are synchronized with the pumping frequence. This method is very useful for variation of color contrast in laser TV image projection systems.
