Copper Nanoparticles Decorated Halloysite Nanotube/Polyaniline Composites for High Performance Non-Enzymatic Glucose Sensor

Abstract: Developing high-performance sensors for glucose detection is of great significance in clinical diagnostics and life science. This paper presents a non-enzymatic electrochemical glucose sensor with high performance. The halloysite nanotube/polyaniline (HNT/PANI) nanocomposite was obtained by chemical oxidation polymerization of aniline on the surface of halloysite nanotubes, then a highly sensitive non-enzymatic glucose sensor based on Cu nanoparticles decorated halloysite nanotube/polyaniline (Cu-HNT/PANI) nan… Show more

“…It is necessary to note that the structure under investigation acts as a potentiometric sensor while a wide range of PANI-based sensors are amperometric ones [ 3 ]. Obtained systems demonstrate a linear response in a range of glucose concentrations actual for real medical diagnostic applications while most of studies are devoted to achieving a low limit of detection [ 57 , 58 , 59 , 60 , 61 ].…”

“…For instance, Shakir et al prepared Ag nanopatterns from DNA template for glucose detection, the sensor obtained excellent recoveries in human blood serum. 8 Later, low-cost transition metal materials such as Cu, 10 Co, 11 Ni 12 and their oxides, 13 hydroxides, 14 sulfides, 15 metal organic frameworks 16 were developed.…”

“…Thus, various PANI-based chemi-resistors have been used for the sensing of acetone, toluene, methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, ammonia, formaldehyde, water vapor and so on. [13][14][15][16][17] The sensitive to water vapor of PANI based sensors is important in the case of humidity sensors. [18][19][20] However, it is distressing in the case of detecting other analytes mixture with water vapor.…”
