“…The central copper atom Cu1 and the terminal copper atoms Cu2 and Cu3 have distorted square pyramidal [Cu 3 (ap) 4 (NO 3 ) 2 ] (2). The structural parameters of 2 measured at 291 K, reported and discussed in detail previously, 48 are almost equivalent to the parameters measured at 100 K. The crystal structure of complex 2 has some similarities to that of 1, especially comparing the bonding parameters of the coordination spheres around the Cu(II) ions. The Cu2-Cu1-Cu3 angle is 175.78(2)°and the Cu1⋯Cu2 and Cu1⋯Cu3 distances are 2.9532(4) and 3.0294(4) Å, respectively.…”

“…The formation of the different copper(II) nitrate complexes with the 3-aminopropanolate anion was previously found to be dependent on the ratio between 3-aminopropanol and copper(II) nitrate. 48 Thus, pure crystals of the trinuclear complex 2 were obtained when the ap − : Cu ratio (ap − from Hap with N(Et) 3 ) was between 2.0-2.3. Moreover, the dependence of the final composition of complex 3 on the 3-aminopropanol to copper bromide ratio was also tested by varying the ap − : Cu ratio from 1.3 to 3.0.…”
