Coplanar integration of antipodal vivaldi antenna with metasurface antennas for ground penetrating radar and 5–GHz WIFI applications

Abstract: In this paper, we design a novel antenna with dual-band and multi-radiation modes by integrating the two metasurface binary array antennas (MBAAs) into the antipodal Vivaldi antenna (AVA). Metasurface binary array antenna 1 (MBAA-1) and metasurface binary array antenna 2 (MBAA-2) are symmetrically embedded on two radiation patches of AVA.
