ObjectivesTo summarize the clinical characteristics of patients infected by SARS-CoV-2 omicron variant and explore the risk factors affecting the progression in a Fangcang hospital, Shanghai, China.MethodsA total of 25,207 patients were retrospectively enrolled. We described the clinical characteristics and performed univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis to identify the risk factors for non-severe to severe COVID-19 or death.ResultsAccording to the outcomes, there were 39 severe patients (including 1 death) and 25,168 non-severe patients enrolled in this study. Among the 25,207 cases, the median age was 45 years (IQR 33-54), and 65% patients were male. Cough (44.5%) and expectoration (38.4%) were the most two common symptoms. Hypertension (10.4%) and diabetes (3.5%) were most two common comorbidities. Most patients (81.1%) were fully vaccinated. The unvaccinated and partially vaccinated patients were 15.1% and 3.9%, respectively. The length of viral shedding time was six days (IQR 4-9) in non-severe patients. Multivariate logistic regression analysis suggested that age (OR=1.062, 95%CI 1.034-1.090, p<0.001), fever (OR=2.603, 95%CI 1.061-6.384, p=0.037), cough (OR=0.276, 95%CI 0.119-0.637, p=0.003), fatigue (OR=4.677, 95%CI 1.976-11.068, p<0.001), taste disorders (OR=14.917, 95%CI 1.884-118.095, p=0.010), and comorbidity (OR=2.134, 95%CI 1.059-4.302, p=0.034) were predictive factors for deterioration of SARS-CoV-2 omicron variant infection.ConclusionsNon-critical patients have different clinical characteristics from critical patients. Age, fever, cough, fatigue, taste disorders, and comorbidity are predictors for the deterioration of SARS-CoV-2 omicron variant infection.

Objectives The COVID-19 pandemic has caused high mortality rates worldwide, as well as consequent psychological and physical stress. The present study aimed to review the main existing scientific research studies conducted since the onset of the COVID-19 that have used mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) as tools for emotional regulation, aiming to improve individuals’ ability to cope with general stress caused by pandemic periods and their consequences (e.g., contagion, confinement, loss of loved ones or job stability) especially related with anxiety, stress, depression, or emotional dysregulation. Method To this aim, six databases (i.e., PubMed, Medline, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, and Science Direct) were consulted and analyzed following PRISMA-Sc guidelines. Results Of the 16 studies selected, 7 are clinical trials that used MBIs, and 9 are online surveys in which mindfulness and emotional regulation variables were assessed to explore their interrelations. Generally, the analysis suggested that the cultivation of MBI strategies for treating anxiety and depression during COVID-19 confinement periods resulted in improved psychological well-being. Conclusions MBI techniques can be considered useful intervention tools in current and future worldwide changing situations, in which personal development and resilience should be considered an urgent issue for both educational and preventive health practices. Conversely, there are also some limitations that arose from the field of MBI research that hopefully might be addressed in future research (such as the diversity of intervention techniques used across studies). Pre registration This study is not preregistered.

Abrégé Objectif L’objectif de l’étude est d’évaluer la structure factorielle et les qualités psychométriques de l’Échelle de Fatigue Pandémique parmi la population adulte québécoise. Méthode Les données analysées proviennent d’une enquête Web réalisée en octobre 2021 auprès de 10 368 adultes résidant au Québec. La structure factorielle de l’échelle et l’invariance selon le sexe, l’âge et la langue utilisée pour le questionnaire ont été testées à l’aide d’analyses factorielles confirmatoires. La validité convergente et divergente ont aussi été évaluées. Enfin, la fidélité de l’échelle a été estimée à partir des coefficients alpha et oméga total. Résultats Les analyses suggèrent la présence d’une structure bidimensionnelle dans l’échantillon d’adultes québécois avec la fatigue informationnelle et la fatigue comportementale. L’invariance de la mesure est notée pour le sexe, pour les groupes d’âge et pour la langue utilisée pour la complétion du questionnaire. Les résultats de la validité convergente et divergente apportent des preuves supplémentaires à la validité de l’échelle. Enfin, la fidélité des scores de l’échelle est excellente. Conclusion Les résultats appuient la présence d’une structure bidimensionnelle comme dans les travaux initiaux de Lilleholt et coll. Ils permettent également d’affirmer que l’échelle possède de bonnes qualités psychométriques et qu’elle peut être utilisée parmi la population adulte québécoise.
