Abstract: For its important roles in biology, nitrogen monoxide (·NO) has become one of the most studied and fascinating molecules in chemistry. ·NO itself acts as a “noninnocent” or “redox active” ligand to transition metal ions to give metal–NO (M–NO) complexes.
