Coordinated Control Strategy for Operation Mode Switching of DC Distribution Networks

Abstract: Due to the advantages such as low line cost, low transmission loss, and high power supply reliability, DC distribution networks have become the main development trend for future distribution networks. In this paper, a typical DC distribution network with multiple voltage levels is considered as a research object. It is proposed that the interface converters between DC buses with different voltage levels be implemented through the series-parallel combination of full-bridge LLC resonant converters. To realize th… Show more

“…The analysis of transient characteristics of DC faults is the foundation of DC protection. Therefore, the transient characteristics of bipolar short circuits in DC lines are analyzed [11]. When an inter pole short circuit occurs in a flexible DC distribution system, the fault current is high and the rising speed is fast, which poses a more severe threat to the stable operation of the system; Therefore, this article takes inter pole short circuit fault as an example to analysis the development process of short circuit current on the bridge arm and DC line before the converter valve is locked and proposes an inter pole fault protection strategy based on the transient characteristics before transverter locking.…”

“…With the emergence of grid-connected operation scenarios of new energy represented by wind power and photovoltaic, their large-scale access to the distribution network will have an impact on various aspects such as reliability and economy of the original power supply [1][2][3]. Power system dispatching faces serious challenges, and the existing dispatching technology is severely inadequate for scenic energy consumption [4].…”

“…The primary advantage of employing DC technology, as opposed to AC, for supplying electrical power systems at low and medium voltage levels is the absence of reactive power and frequency requirements [4]. This characteristic makes DC networks highly efficient in terms of energy losses and easier to manage, as power and voltage flows are the primary factors to consider in these networks [5].…”
