Cooperative Inter-ISP Traffic Control Scheme Based on Bargaining Game Approach

Abstract: New applications in 5G networks are becoming very popular, and internet service providers (ISPs) may take the opportunity to provide various services to their clients. Today, one of the challenging problems facing ISPs is how the profitability can be increased while maintaining an excellent network performance. In this work, we seek to understand the fundamental issues on interactions among ISPs, and design a novel inter-ISP traffic control scheme to take full advantage of network resource sharing. Our approac… Show more

“…Next, articles are presented that address ISPs' integration or ISP activity over network traffic. Paper [6] presents the ISPs' interactions and the types of ISPs. Inter-ISP communication is presented in regard to traffic control, and the need for new dynamic control protocols related to this is discussed.…”

“…Regarding ISPs' interaction, several advantageous use cases could be derived. As presented in [6,7], it may be beneficial to use shared caching mechanisms for collaborative information retention. The proposed solution would allow for incorporating negotiated prices and contracts into the integrated blockchain, for enhanced operational efficiency.…”

“…In terms of bargaining game, [24] proposed a pricing model based on bargaining games to incentivize vehicles and road side unit (RSUs) to play a more active role in content delivery in the vehicle network. Reference [25] identified the special properties of internet service provider (ISP) interactions and used the concepts of Yu's bargaining solution to solve the ISP traffic control problem. In the model of [26], multiple microgrids bargained with each other to obtain the Pareto optimal solution of their power management problem.…”
