Cooperative Control by System Voltage Control Equipments in Consideration of Reducing Capacity of STATCOM

Abstract: In recent years, the number of renewable energy sources (RESs) such as photovoltaic generation systems and wind power generation systems connected to the grid has been increasing as a way of reducing negative effects on the environment. The outputs of these RESs vary rapidly because of the influence of the weather and the conditions of the location. Therefore, there are concerns that the point voltages in a distribution system may vary drastically and that the voltages may deviate from the appropriate voltage … Show more

“…Moreover, the active filter has been used to suppress harmonics in the distribution system. Most of these devices are installed at the high voltage system, and the various studies on the voltage management by them in the distribution system interconnected DGs have been done [1][2][3][4]. However, most of the DGs are generally installed in the low voltage system and the number of them will be increasing more and more in the future.…”

“…In this context, a centralized control method was proposed . In such method, all devices in the system are connected by network, and the obtained system information is used to successively determine optimal SVC output and tap position in LRT as well as SVR so as to implement cooperative control.…”
