Cooling Performance Analysis of the Permanent Magnet Motor

Abstract: This paper built 3D motor model by SolidWorks, using finite element software Fluent to simulate the temperature field and fluid field of the permanent magnet motor. The cooling effect of “C” type structure with different radiating rib was analyzed in this paper. Simulation analysis of motor temperature rise was carried out under different inlet flow. It provides a reference for the further study of motor shell optimization design.

“…For example, high temperature may cause magnet loss of permanent magnet [3,4]. Therefore, in a certain extent, temperature rise limits the improvement of the motor's performance, as well as its service life and reliability [5,6]. So temperature rise problem has become one of the key questions which has drawn widespread concern in the motor and its related field.…”
