Abstract: ObjectiveBrain lesions sometimes induce a failure of recognition of one's own deficits (anosognosia). Lack of deficit awareness may underlie damage of modality‐specific systems, e.g., visual cortex for visual anosognosia or motor/premotor cortex for motor anosognosia.
