Controlling energy aware clustering and multihop routing protocol for IoT assisted wireless sensor networks

Abstract: Because of recent breakthroughs in information technology, the Internet of Things (IoT) is becoming increasingly popular in a variety of application areas. Wireless sensor networks (WSN) are a critical component of IoT systems, and they consist of a collection of affordable and compact sensors that are utilized for data collecting. WSNs are used in a variety of IoT applications, such as surveillance, detection, and tracking systems, to sense the surroundings and transmit the information to the user's device.Sm… Show more

“…The presence of heterogeneity poses a significant challenge in the implementation of intelligent Internet of Things (IoT) systems. The subject matter under consideration refers to wireless networks, with a special emphasis on the idea of Wireless Networks [2][3] [4]. An obstacle encountered within the realm of hardware for the Internet of Things (IoT) pertains to the incorporation of intelligent devices into intelligent systems.…”

“…An illustrative counterexample highlighting the issues pertaining to node clustering in the Internet of Things (IoT) can be observed in a hypothetical situation where the clustering method exhibits inadequate scalability. In the context of a vast Internet of Things (IoT) network with numerous devices, the clustering algorithm may have difficulties in managing the substantial volume of data and processing demands [2]. Consequently, this might result in delayed reaction times and potential system malfunctions.…”

“…5 Furthermore, WMSN transmits the data using a certain routing protocol, such as shortest path routing and paths with less number of relay nodes (RNs). 6,7 One of the significant issues in WMSN is the existence of an energy hole, which increases the network's energy consumption. In multi-hop data transmission, the nodes execute different functions; thereby, it causes imbalanced energy usage.…”
