Abstract

If you ask me what the biggest challenge is in my life, I would definitely say it is my Ph.D, with no doubt. During the past four years, I have put my hard work and my talent and my heart into this study program, because I always believe, in research you get back what you put into it. Now this thesis has finally been completed, and I know nothing could have been possible without the help of many people. First of all, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to my supervisor, Professor Zheng Lianxi, a sophisticated, mature, and gracious gentleman. You have such a surprisingly kind heart. When I joined your group, I knew nothing about research. You gave me your dedication and encouragement, your time and patience, your nurture and support.
