Controllable preparation and properties of active functional hybrid materials with different chromophores

Abstract: POSS-based active functional hybrid materials were controllably prepared and their optical properties were influenced by molecular structure.

“…All the hybrid materials displayed the characteristic stretching vibration absorption band of SieOeSi at~1123 cm À1 , indicating the incorporation of POSS into the organic dyes. To introduce the dyes with different absorption bands to the hybrids, in the synthesis of PA, the molar ratio of 9-bromoanthracene to OV-POSS was 2, thus there were large amount of vinyl groups left in PA, which was confirmed by the absorption band at 1602 cm À1 , originated from the stretching vibration of CH]CH 2 [31]. The absorption bands between 3059 and 2958 cm À1 were attributed to the stretching vibration of ]CeH in both CH]CH 2 and anthracene.…”
