“…Direct evidence of interference originating from the left hand's strength in form of better endpoint accuracy in the right hand was not observed: Irrespective of whether the right or the left hand was kinesthetically guided, the variability of movement end positions did not differ between the two hands. A previous study using only veridical feedback and comparing unimanual kinesthetic performance with simultaneous bimanual kinesthetic/visual performance (Kagerer 2014) found that when the visually guided left hand moved together with the kinesthetically guided right hand, endpoint accuracy was higher in the right hand. At the same time, there is some indication that the hypothesized endpoint control mechanism is expressed less consistently (Wang and Sainburg 2003); it is therefore possible that the abrupt and fairly large visual feedback perturbation attenuated or masked the left hand's proficiency for endpoint accuracy control and diminished the potential for interference here.…”
