“…The methods used to prepare the cells for vacine SM followed in general those of Clark et al (1967) except that the cells were harvested after growing for four days on the surface of 2.5% nutrient agar enriched with 7.5% defibrinated ox blcod in an atmosphere of 5% oxygen, 5% carbon dioxide and 90% nitrogen, and were adjusted to a density equal to 11 times that of Wellcome* opacity tube 10.
