Control Measurements of Crane Rails Performed by Terrestrial Laser Scanning

Abstract: This article presents a method for measuring the geometry of crane rails with terrestrial laser scanning (TLS). Two sets of crane rails were divided into segments, their planes were adjusted, and the characteristic rail lines were defined. We used their profiles to define the positional and altitude deviations of the rails, the span and height difference between the two rails, and we also verified that they complied with the Eurocode 3 standard. We tested the method on crane rails at the hydroelectric power pl… Show more

“…Most of them are based on traditional surveying or 3D Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) systems. Kregar, et al [2] used terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) for measuring the geometry of the crane rails such as the positional and altitude deviations, the span, and height differences between the rails. The results also were compared with the one obtained from the classical polar method, which is considered as a reference measurement.…”

“…Pri uporabi dveh gostot (10 % ali 100 %) so razlike minimalne. Podobno ugotovitev navajamo tudi v Kregar et al (2017). Rezultati so sicer najboljši pri uporabi vseh točk oblaka pri ločljivosti 2 mm (Flerin, 2016).…”
